How We Started
The journey of Cartunus Daily began on August 15, 2024, when a team of passionate creators decided to bring some laughter and thought-provoking cartoons into people’s lives. Our first cartoon was designed on August 23, 2024, and published on the same day on our original Facebook page, Simpson Saga BD.
Who We Are
We are a team of Bangladeshis living across the world, united by a shared passion for art, humor, and storytelling. The heart of Cartunus Daily lies with our two talented artists based in a European country, who bring our cartoons to life with creativity and skill. Behind every cartoon is a like-minded team of Bangladeshis contributing ideas, ensuring our content resonates with current events and public sentiment. Our various platforms are managed by dedicated individuals, with each person playing a unique role in keeping our content engaging and accessible. Additionally, we have an in-house team member who ensures our website runs smoothly and delivers the best user experience. Together, we are a global team with a single vision.
Our Challenges and Resilience
Although we started as a fun and light-hearted cartoon magazine, our satire and humor didn’t sit well with everyone—especially the fascist government of Bangladesh led by Dr Muhammad Yunus. They attempted to silence us multiple times by suspending our Facebook pages.
- Simpson Saga BD: Our original page was suspended two times shortly after we gained popularity.
- Cartunus Daily: We came back with a new page, but this too was suspended after just a month.
- Cartunus Daily 2.0: Today, this is our operational Facebook page, where we continue to share cartoons despite the challenges.
We’ve faced censorship head-on and remain committed to fighting against suppression through our art.
